Er moet iets speciaal zijn met februari en onze familie, bijna een derde van de familie heeft zijn/haar verjaardag in februari. Zondag was de eerste keer dat we het samen gevierd hebben en dat hadden we al veel eerder moeten doen, want was super gezellig. &lt;br /&gt;Wat stoelen en tafels van tantes en nonkels bijeen gezet, mooi wit tafelkleed erover en we waren klaar voor onze Zweedse brunch - zeg maar extravaganza (14 gerechten!). Het is dus een ganse namiddag eten en drinken geworden die op zeer Vlaamse wijze werd onderbroken door de mannen die naar de koers gingen kijken en de vrouwen die in de keuken de afwas gingen doen, glaasje wijn on standby natuurlijk.&lt;br /&gt;Op het einde ware er nog taarten met wel drie pakjes kaarsjes  - het heeft zo een kwartier geduurd eer die allemaal tegelijk branden en die de kinderen allemaal in 1 seconde uitbliezen. Het was nadien wel wat kaarsvet plukken tussen de stukjes fruit en bresilienne nootjes, maar dat kon de pret niet derven. &lt;br /&gt;Zij die onze blog al langer lezen weten dat we &lt;a href="http://t-alamenthe.blogspot.com/2010/03/andere-landen-die-reeds-de-revue.html"&gt;elk jaar een land kiezen&lt;/a&gt; voor het verjaardagsfeestje van de kinderen en dit jaar was Zweden weer aan de beurt dus. Het was eerst wat moeilijk om echt Scandinavische recepten te vinden, maar eens we op weg waren, was er geen stoppen meer aan de 'mmm's en 'oooh's en 'ah ja deze zeker ook's, hier is de lijst: &lt;br /&gt;-Janssons' fretselse, (Jansson's verleiding)  een aardappelschotel met ansjovisjes. (wodka is toch ook een beetje Scandinavisch?). Niets beters dan zelfgebakken brood. De vis goed wassen en droogdeppen met keukenpapier en in een met olie ingevette ovenschaal leggen. Dit is in feite een variant op de worteltjes soep die ik tijdens de wintermaanden vaak maak. Ik kook hiervoor een kg wortelen beetgaar in kokend water met een beetje sesamolie (niet weglaten, dat is de smaakmaker in dit dipje!, laat de wortelen onder stromend water goed afkoelen en blend ze dan met sinaasappelsap en Griekse yoghurt. Het geheel wordt op smaak gebracht met geroosterd komijnzaad (heel even in een droge pan roosteren tot de zaadjes gaan 'springen'), wat grof zeezout en zwarte peper uit de molen en een flink handvol gehakte verse koriander. Voor het serveren besprenkel ik het geheel met wat vers citroensap.&lt;br /&gt;Best is deze dips genoeg tijd te geven om helemaal af te koelen want dan komen de smaken veel beter tot hun recht. Voor gebruik moeten ze wel eerst gesteriliseerd worden. Verwarm de oven voor op 110°C. Zet de potten 5 minuten in de warme oven en laat ze afkoelen op een vaatdoek. &lt;br /&gt;Zodra de jam is ingekookt, laat ik het geheel nog ongeveer 10min  rusten voor ik ze in de potten giet (handig hierbij is een trechter!). Voorzichtig de jam over de potten verdelen en onmiddellijk afdekken. Hij is heel gegeerd in Frankrijk en Portugal, hier in België is hij eerder zeldzaam. Laat ze door en door koud worden in dit badje met ijswater (zodra je ervan proeft zal je snappen waarom. Snij de worteltjes dan in kubusjes (volgens het recept brunoise, maar ik vind het eerlijk gezegd lekkerder in iets meer crunchy stukjes). Meng het met gehakte koriander en peterselie, omscheppen met citroensap, azijn (ik gebruik appelazijn met vanille!!) een gesnipperd sjalotje, een scheutje olijfolie, flink wat komijn en peper en zout. Maak dit en zet het in de koelkast, wordt elke dag lekkerder!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sR47y-AAzdE/TE8wW-0xLgI/AAAAAAAAAmw/dcnJd2xijLs/s1600/Marokkaanse+wortelen+003.JPG"&gt;&lt;img style="display:block; 'Verse oogst': mini (bio)courgettes uit vader's tuin, dit is een lekker en zomers gerechtje. Als je er vindt, gebruik toch liever de kleine courgettes, veel meer smaak! Snijd de uiteinden van 2 courgettes en snijd in de lengte een dunne plak van elke zijde, doe deze weg. Snijd elke courgette in de lengte in 6 dunne plakken (5mm). Meng 2el olijfolie met 1tl vers citroensap. Bestrijk de courgette met het mengsel en bestrooi met zwarte peper.&lt;br /&gt;Verhit een grillpan en grill de plakken langs beide kanten. Laat afkoelen op een bord. 75g gorgonzola mengen met 75g ricotta en over de plakken verdelen. Strooi er gehakte walnoten over en leg aan elk uiteinde een muntblaadje en enkele sprietjes bieslook  zodat ze over de rand uitsteken. Rol de plakken vanaf deze kant voorzichtig op. Zet de rolletjes rechtop, met de munt en bieslook omhoog op borden. Doe 4 eidooiers en 500 ml karnemelk in een andere kom en klop goed door elkaar. Voeg het karnemelkmengsel toe aan het beslag en klop licht tot alles door elkaar is gemengd. Klop de eiwitten stijf en vouw met een metalen lepel door het beslag. De hapjes waren njam: zalmrolletjes, kippeballetjes en pumpernikkel brood waren de winnaars van de avond. Kipblokjes dan ongeveer 5min roerbakken en opzij zetten. 2 teentjes look gesnipperd met geraspte gember en 50G (jaja, je leest het goed!) Sichuan chilipepertjes in reepjes 20 sec roerbakken, kipblokjes en stukjes lente-ui en beetje suiker toevoegen besprenkelen met 2tl sesamolie. De zalmfilet met vel in repen snijden, besprenkelen met olijfolie en bestrooien met zout en peper. Samen met kleine stukjes courgette, aspergepuntjes en 1 chilipepertje fijngehakt (pitjes verwijderen en handen wassen!) 2 min bakken, zalm halverwege omkeren. Gehakte tomaatjes met citroensap en handvol gehakte koriander door de couscous roeren. MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 146px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sR47y-AAzdE/S-l33qvGtFI/AAAAAAAAADk/ErWRHxiIEUE/s200/Birthday+twins+2010+053.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Elk jaar vieren we de verjaardag van de kinderen met de ganse familie en elk jaar kiezen we een land als thema, de wereldbol helpt bij het kiezen, draaien en... dit jaar werd het GRIEKENLAND!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dit stond op het menu:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fava, gele spliterwtenpuree, recept gevonden in 'The real greek' van Theodore Kyriakou - this was a winner!&lt;br /&gt;Dip van aubergine munt en yoghurt, recept gevonden in Nigella Lawson's 'Feest'&lt;br /&gt;Aubergine puree  (lekker pittig)&lt;br /&gt;Moussaka (lekker maar veel werk...)&lt;br /&gt;Tzatziki (lekker en niet veel werk)&lt;br /&gt;Balletjes in tomatensaus (voor de kleine en grote kindjes)&lt;br /&gt;Scampi met feta en tomaat  (lekker uit de oven)&lt;br /&gt;Griekse sla en olijfjes&lt;br /&gt;Dolmades en spinakopita (filodeegpakketjes met feta en spinazie)   van de markt (stond er als eerste en werd bediend door twee oudere Griekse mannen met brede glimlach - zalig, en ook lekker brood van Turks marktkraam&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sR47y-AAzdE/S-l33cBOCcI/AAAAAAAAADc/JuvXD_sW7bM/s1600/Birthday+twins+2010+049.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5470035016715995586" style="FLOAT: left;
